Wychwood Surgery Patient Involvement Group
Members of the Practice felt that it would be a good idea to form a
group whereby a representative group of patients would have the
opportunity to discuss the way services are provided and to give a
patient perspective. The group would also be asked to comment on the
findings of the annual patient satisfaction questionnaire and look
at ways of overcoming any issues that arise from the questionnaire.
In January 2006 a number of patients from
different villages within the practice area and of different age
groups were invited to form the Wychwood Surgery Patient Involvement
Group and the first meeting was in March, when the group met with
one of the Partners, Nina Brown, and the Practice Manager, Vanessa
Newman. Terms of Reference were discussed and agreed. The group meets 3 or 4 times a year.
During 2007 the group were involved in input into
the practice plans for development of services both within the
practice and within the North Oxfordshire Commissioning Group, a
group of 16 practices, which are involved in commissioning certain
services for their patients as agreed with Oxfordshire PCT. For 2008
the group have already worked together with the practice in
identifying the need for and setting up a Drop-In Weighing Room for
Babies, which is situated next to the reception and waiting room
area. The group also helped with the World's Largest Coffee Morning
in aid of the MacMillan Nurses which was a great success last
October.
The current membership of the group and contact
details are:
All members of the group welcome contact by other patients if they
have suggestions or comments on the services provided by the surgery
that would be relevant for the group to discuss. Please note that
the group do not deal with complaints. These should be
directed to the Practice Manager, Vanessa Newman, in the first
instance, who will be able to give details of the NHS Complaints
Procedure. |
