The voicemail is checked by the nurses regularly throughout the day up to 4.30pm  The service currently covers the hours between 8.00am and 4.30pm each day. There is no twilight or night facility.

From time to time a 'Degree in Adult Nursing' student will undertake their community placement attached to the Wychwood Surgery. These nurses will be seeing patients and will be supervised by qualified staff and/or a GP at all times.

Health Visitor

The Health Visitor is a nurse who specialises in preventative medicine and health education for mothers and children. In the course of her work she sees families in their homes or in the surgery and she runs the child health clinics and arranges child immunisation programmes.

The health visitor carries out vision, hearing and developmental screening for the under fives, advises on all aspects of health and social problems and is able to link with other services. Patients requiring parentcraft classes should contact her. The health visitor can be contacted 01993 831614 and she has a voicemail facility for when she is out of the office. If you need to contact her urgently please leave a message with the receptionists. From time to time the health visitor will have a health visitor student; these will be qualified nurses who are gaining their health visitor qualification. These nurses will be involved in patient care and will be under qualified supervision at all times.

Currently the Health Visitor post at the surgery is vacant and cover is being provided by Sally Miller and Janet Goves from neighbouring surgeries. Please continue to contact the Health Visitor in the usual way.
